The Soul: Mind, Will and Emotions
In this section on the Soul, I have put together three videos that delve into three subjects I think you will find most interesting. The first one is Love Deprived? The second is Want Peace and Joy? The third video asks Do You Feel Valuable?
The Bible states in 1Thessalonians 5:23 that a human being is composed of three different parts, those being the Spirit, the Soul and the Body.
The Spirit is that part of us that hears, desires and communes with God after we have asked Jesus to come and live in us.
The Soul is that part of us that is made up of our mind, our will and our emotions.
Our mind has a conscious part and a subconscious part. The conscious part is where we do our thinking and reasoning. The subconscious part of our mind is where we hold deep beliefs and different attitudes. The mind has thoughts and emotions that are processed in the brain.
Our will is that part of our soul that makes decisions and choices based on the input from our five physical senses and our emotions.
What brain scientists have discovered is that we learn by our emotional experiences. What they have found is that our emotional experiences especially painful ones leave a deep imprint in our brain circuitry. Only new loving, accepting experiences, can replace our painful childhood experiences.
Are You Love Deprived
We’re going to talk about a subject I think that’s going to be pretty powerful, and that subject is, are you love deprived? What do you think? Are you love deprived? We’re going to talk about it here. It’s a question that I ask people often. Now, you say, “Why do you ask people often?” I ask the question because I’m asking it so that I can know how a person thinks, because how they answer this question will tell me a lot about what they believe about themselves. How to Get More Peace and Joy
I want to ask you a question. Would you like more peace and joy? I am going to share with you how you can have more peace and joy. Who doesn’t want more peace and joy in their busy, stress-filled lives? We all need more peace. I know I do and I’m sure you do also.
Peace is defined in the dictionary as an absence of war, freedom from quarrels and disagreements and having inner contentment. Well I like the last definition the best because inner contentment is what I’m after. I think it’s probably what you want too. Read More
Are You Valuable
I want to talk about something that I have dealt with at our church for a very long time. It is this question. Do you really feel valuable? I already know the answer that most people will have because I’ve studied the emotional issues that I have had and many other people have had. My study proved to me that hardly anybody feels really deep down that they are valuable. Maybe a few do but a very few. I know how most people will answer because I know about myself. I know what I went through. I know that I felt that I was not valuable and now I know why I felt that way. I also know why you don’t value yourself. Read More
